Architect. Operator. Advisor.
A trusted counselor for consequential decisions
The right advisor must understand the law, the owner’s objectives, the economics of the enterprise, the people affected, and what it will take to execute. Based in Billings and grounded in Montana, Pham Law Firm builds high-trust, low-volume relationships with clients across Montana, the Mountain West, and the United States who value judgment, discretion, and direct access.
About Vu Pham
VU PHAM, JD, MHA, CEPA
Vu Pham works at the intersection of law, ownership, and institutional design. From his Montana base, he advises business owners, entrepreneurs, executives, investors, boards, and family stakeholders across the country on acquisitions, restructurings, governance, succession, growth, risk, disputes, and ownership transitions.
Before founding Pham Law Firm, Vu spent more than twelve years working with the federal judiciary as a law clerk and staff attorney to U.S. District Judges Richard F. Cebull and Jack D. Shanstrom. He later served as General Counsel and then CEO of a multi-entity industrial organization spanning trucking, mining, oilfield services, landfill operations, construction, and real estate—with more than 500 employees across four states.
That experience, together with his Master of Health Administration degree, shaped his approach: legal advice should be evaluated through business, operational, financial, strategic, healthcare, and execution lenses. He understands how decisions reach the boardroom, the balance sheet, the workforce, and the owner personally.
His current governance service includes Intermountain Health and Rocky Mountain College, together with leadership of the Montana Facility Finance Authority. Those roles deepen his perspective on fiduciary responsibility, capital allocation, institutional durability, and the relationship between mission and financial performance.
Vu has been a member of YPO since 2014, maintaining an active peer network of business owners and executives across Montana, the United States, and internationally.
As a Certified Exit Planning Advisor, Vu helps principals coordinate legal structure with tax, investment, fiduciary, and succession planning so ownership, control, and generational wealth remain aligned over time.
His work is measured, practical, and discreet. The objective is not to eliminate every risk or keep an enterprise permanently safe in harbor. It is to help the client understand which risks to avoid, reduce, transfer, or take deliberately—and then move toward the right destination with clarity.
